Shealtiel also known as Salathiel
Zorobabel and  Esther had another son, Hannaniah the 5th Exilach and this line continued for many generations.
Half brother and sister marry
Amytis is the Granddaughter of Nebbercudnessar II
There are 8 generations from Shazzezzar to Neariah not mentioned by Matthew

Jehoram married Athaliah, the wicked daughter of of the wicked Ahab and Jezebel. As a consequence of this evil man and his wife, his seed was cursed for four generations. Thus Matthew, following the Temple records, omits Ahaziah, Joash, and Amaziah.

Salathiel dies so his brother Pedaiah marries his widow but the son retains the elder brother's sirname and is thus Zoroabel ben Shealtiel

The Captivity in Babylon

Some genealogies are confused by Luke 3:27 where it says '(as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli', but under Jewish law Joseph is regarded as the son of Heli simply because of his marriage to Mary.  Heli is the biological father of Mary and Joseph is the biological son of Jacob.

Tamar first married Neri, then married her cousin,  Jeconiah, also known as Jechonias.
Zorobabel had 3 wives including Esther his sister

I previously had come across Aurthur C. Custance’s “The Genealogy from Adam to Jesus Christ’ taken from his book, ‘The Seed of the Woman’.

and also the notes that followed by Chuck Missler that were part of the same document.‘Why a Virgin Birth’ by Chuck Missler

So, while using the ‘Family Tree’ genealogies app., I researched the two lines from David to Jesus, particularly the generations immediately following  Jehoikim, and I believe that the following TREE can explain how the generations worked while still sticking to Jewish and Biblical rules and customs. Shelomith and Rhesa are part of Mary’s line. Shelomith does not have a relationship with Abuid.  Abuid is a descendant after eight generations of Zerubbabel through his third wife , Amytis, the Babylonian and granddaughter of Nebuchadnezzar II.
